For the third time in the last four seasons, the Central Christian College of Kansas women's soccer team will make an appearance in the NCCAA National Championship. Since Coach Scott Fogarty took over the program back in 2014, the Lady Tigers have accrued a record of 52-49-2 in his 5 seasons at the helm, including winning seasons in 2015, 2016, and 2018, all three seasons in which the Lady Tigers received an at-large bid to compete for the NCCAA National Championship. The 2015 season was the best season in program history, as the Lady Tigers went 20-6, including two wins in the NCCAA National Championship pool play over Trinity Christian College (this year's #1 seed) 3-2, and Trinity Lutheran College 2-1.
The Tigers will head into this year's National Championship as the seventh seed. The rest of the field is seeded as follows: No.1 Trinity Christian College, No.2 Oklahoma Wesleyan University, No.3 Grace College (Indiana), No.4 Ottawa University Arizona, No.5 Campbellsville University, No.6 Warner University, and No.8 Columbia International University.
The Lady Tigers have garnered some attention for their play so far this season, with seven players receiving NCCAA All-Region recognition for the Central Region. Abbi Koehn, Alexa Riddle and Alyssa Emery earned First-team All-Region honors, while Allison Harper, Jordan Meier, Karla Menjivar and Isabel Sierra earned Second-Team All-Region honors.
The Lady Tigers will head down to Kissimmee, Florida, to participate in a Christian service project organized by the NCCAA, before they begin competing in pool play on Nov. 26th at the Austin-Tindall Soccer Complex. The three teams in each pool will play each other once, and the winner of each pool will play for the Championship on Dec.1st.
