CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – Last Friday, Jesse Freeman represented the McPherson College Bulldogs at the 63rd annual Men's Cross Country Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Two weeks prior to the National Championships, Freeman ran a personal best 26:46.1, and finished eighth at the KCAC Championships, to qualify for the race in Cedar Rapids. He made the most of his training in the two weeks leading up to the championship race, as he was able shave 33 seconds off the personal best he set at the KCAC championships.
At nationals he ran the 8K race, even in below freezing temperature in 26:13 to finish at 174th, out of 330 total entrants. Bulldogs' Coach, Cameron Magnall, commented on Freeman's performance saying, "I was extremely happy with how Jesse raced this weekend. He battled some extreme cold and windy conditions to come away with a great finish and PR, beating some of the KCAC runners that finished ahead of him at conference. The entire team will use this season's success as a springboard into our indoor season that starts in a few weeks."
