CULVER — Susan Kay Hummel, 67, passed away Oct. 20, 2019, at her home with family by her side. Susan was born May 31, 1952, in Salina, to Clyde Calvin White and Florence Pauline (Gotti) White. Susan married Rodney Dale Hummel, Dec. 24, 1975.

She graduated from Hutchinson Beauty School and after working at Advanced Beauty Salon in Salina, for a few years, she continued to style her friends and family throughout her life. Susan was one of a kind. She remodeled over a dozen homes throughout her life running her business, Houses to Homes, drove a harvest wheat truck for her father for over three decades, and ran a daycare in the Tescott “Bird House” for several years. Susan lived a full and meaningful life, approaching every challenge with a can-do attitude and providing unwavering support and generosity to her children, family and friends.

She leaves behind: her beloved husband, Rodney; son, Travis Hummel (Liz); daughter, Lisa Hummel (Neil Rudisill); grandchildren, Hanna, Clyde, and Ruby; and siblings, Joan Murphy (Mark), and Randy White (Jeannie); and brother-in-law, Chris Weller.  Susan was preceded in death by: her parents; and sister, Marilyn Weller.

A Celebration of Life reception will be 4:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Old Chicago, 214 S Santa Fe Ave, Salina.
