A woman was injured Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Atchison County, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 12:50 p.m. on US-73 highway at mile marker 51.1.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer sport utility vehicle was southbound on US-73 when the driver attempted to avoid hitting an animal in the roadway.
The patrol said the Trailblazer went onto the west shoulder, over-corrected, then came back onto the roadway. The driver then lost control and the vehicle went in the east ditch and rolled.
The driver, Deborah A. Coates, 64, of Leavenworth, was reported possibly injured and was taken to Atchison Hospital in Atchison for treatment. The patrol said Coates, who was alone in her vehicle, was wearing a seat belt.
The patrol's online crash log didn't specify the type of animal that was in the roadway.
