October 27, 2019: SOAP #3615:  Job 18; Psalm 114; Acts 27-28

Scripture:  Acts (NIV) 27:21 After the men had gone a longtime without food, Paul stood up before them and said: “Men, you shouldhave taken my advice not to sail from Crete; then you would have sparedyourselves this damage and loss. 22 But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed.
25 So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happenjust as he told me.
34 Now I urge you to take some food. You need it to survive. Not one of youwill lose a single hair from his head.”
42 The soldiers planned to kill the prisoners to prevent any of them fromswimming away and escaping. 43 But the centurion wanted to spare Paul's lifeand kept them from carrying out their plan. He ordered those who could swim tojump overboard first and get to land.44 The rest were to get there on planks oron pieces of the ship. In this way everyone reached land in safety.

Observation:   Justlike the word of God that came through Paul:  safe but wet!   safe but beat by the waves!   safe but hanging onto pieces of theshipwreck!   safe but cold!   safe but still in the storm!  safe and glad to be alive, I am sure!  Everyone's story was a little different, butthey all made it safely to land!

Application:  I can trust God to keep His word.  He may not still the storm, but He will getme through!   He promised to go and prepare a place forme.  He promised to come to take me whereHe is!   I may go through some storms, but'it will be worth it all, when we see Jesus. Life's trials will seem so small, when we see Christ.  One glimpse of His dear faceall sorrow willerase.  So, bravely run the race, till wesee Christ!'

Prayer:   LordJesus, what a day that will be when we join you before the throne inHeaven!  What a day of rejoicing!  What a day of celebrating your greatsacrifice!  Amen
